[ETNews] Meinntech develops a pump that combines a syringe with an infusion device | |

Meinntech (CEO Lee Sang-bin) announced on October 28 that it had developed Anyfusion which is a product that integrates a syringe pump and an infusion pump.
This product is designed to suck and discharge liquid drug using two pistons. It has a doughnut cylinder structure and employs a dual piston pump technique, both of which are internally developed original technologies. The company explained the use of the dual piston pumping technology improves accuracy, safety, and convenience. The result of a test performed by the Korea Testing Laboratory showed the product had a flow accuracy of ±2% across the whole range, which is by far better than that of an infusion pump having a ±5% accuracy level.
In addition, infusion pumps tend to lose elasticity in tubes as well as their accuracy which, Meinntech emphasized, has been tackled effectively by a method of injecting liquid drug through rotation of the piston in the cylinder. Unlike current versions of infusion pump, this product has no restrictions in the use of tubes, and it can also accommodate any size of syringes because it sucks and discharges liquid actively. Meinntech is planning to launch this product in the first half of next year when it expects to receive relevant certifications. It targets both the syringe and infusion pump markets. CEO Lee Sang-bin said “we expect to make inroads aggressively into those markets” and continued “We are planning to obtain the CE and FDA certifications one by one to tap into overseas markets.” Reported by Yoon Gun Il 윤건일기자 | benyun@etnews.com
